I figured since we are nearing the end of the year, I’d share with you all a few of what I consider the best neurodivergent-approved Amazon purchases I’ve made in 2024. You may be wondering “what the hell is a neurodivergent-approved purchase?” Well, friend, in this case, all of these purchases have helped with sensory things in one way or another and made my AuDHD heart happy.

I will be the first to admit that I buy more than I should from Amazon. My kitchen has several Amazon packages at any given point in time. I have a lot of mixed thoughts on the company considering their less-than-ethical practices towards employees and the fact that they are seemingly on a mission to get into as many different industries as possible. However, being disabled, I often do not have the energy to go out to a physical store so Amazon can be kind of a lifesaver with their low prices and inhuman delivery times. But enough of my rambling; let’s get into the good stuff.

Waterdrop Filter Pitcher

First up on the list is my Waterdrop pitcher. Earlier this year, I discovered (much to my horror) that my Brita pitcher was growing mold in the spout. I purchased 2 different replacement pitchers from Brita and both of them ended up broken. One was cracked when it came in the mail and the other broke a few days after using it. I decided to go with a different brand and gave Waterdrop a try after reading some reviews. And y’all… I love this pitcher.

I swear this pitcher filters water better than any of the Brita pitchers I’ve had and I had been using Brita pitchers for over a decade. It tastes so good and clean, I absolutely love it. I can be very particular about water and typically only like bottled water but I hate wasting all that plastic. Still, we all know staying hydrated is important and this has been a lifesaver for me with getting me to drink water without feeling like I’m killing the planet.

Rockdove Teddy Slippers

There are 2 types of neurodivergent people: those who hate wearing things on their feet and those who hate being barefoot because you can feel every tiny grain of dirt. I’m the latter. A good pair of slippers is a must for me.

I’ve had these slippers since the beginning of the year and while I didn’t wear them during the summer, I’ve been surprised at how well these have held up. I usually go through slippers quickly because I wear them out fast (I think because of the way I walk/stand) but these are still going strong. They’re super comfortable and while they’re nice and warm, they’re not so warm that my feet sweat. That is a big plus because despite not liking to go barefoot, my feet can also overheat very easily in slippers. With all that said, these are probably my favorite slippers I’ve ever owned.

Soundcore Anker Life Noise-Canceling Headphones

Every neurodivergent person needs a good pair of noise-canceling headphones, am I right?

I bought these earlier this year because I was looking for a good pair that would give decent sound quality and block out the sound of my boyfriend playing video games with his friends (I love him dearly but listening to him yelling because he got shot is not my favorite). I also needed something that wouldn’t break the bank. These were about $40 and, like my slippers, have become my favorite pair I’ve ever owned.

They are so much more comfortable than ear buds which I can only wear for short periods of time before they’re too uncomfortable and I have to take them out. The battery life is pretty good as well; I don’t use them daily or for long periods of time, but I typically only have to charge them once every week or two. The sound quality is impressive considering the price point and, perhaps most importantly, if I have them on and my music playing, I almost can’t hear my boyfriend and his friends at all. If this isn’t one of the best neurodivergent-approved Amazon purchases, I don’t know what is.

Amazon Essentials Fleece Zip-Up

I have to admit, I really like Amazon’s brands that they make and sell. I hate that I like them, but I do. This Amazon Essentials fleece zip-up is no exception. This has been my go-to jacket this fall. It fits well, the fleece is really comfortable, and it’s quite warm. Best of all, it has pretty large pockets compared to most women’s clothing. They have quite a few color options and last I checked, sizing went up to a 6x so most people won’t have a problem finding one that fits.

Caracilia Crewneck Sweatshirt

Last but not least is my new favorite sweatshirt. I am obsessed with this thing and don’t ever want to take it off. I know you all understand. It is so warm and comfortable and I just love everything about it. In fact, I love this sweatshirt so much that I just bought another one in another color. That’s how you know the love is real and it is truly one of the best neurodivergent-friendly Amazon purchases.

The only downside is it is unfortunately only available in sizes XS to XL. If you’re a 1X or 2X (I was a 2X up until about a year ago so I’m not just talking out of my ass here), you could probably still get the XL because it is an oversized style; it just wouldn’t be as baggy and oversized.

There you have it – my 5 best neurodivergent-approved Amazon purchases from 2024. If there’s anything you’ve purchased that makes your neurodivergent self smile, share it with me in the comments!
